Faith Development Ministry News 

   CREATION KEEPERS – Saving the Planet One Child at a Time!  And so was the motto for the 2010 environmentally friendly twist on Bible School based on Romans 8:19.  What a fun and active week we had the first week of August at RELC.  There were kids and adults all over the place!    Our Y-LIFE teens not only provided much of our staffing – but helped train a new generation of leaders in which to grow programs for the future. Many thanks to Molly Weibel, Heather Clemens, Mat Burgwald and Tony Nguyen who provided this young adult leadership and mentored 15 new teenage leaders.  Our faithful adults included Kathy Lindquist, Dave Burgwald, Bonnie Nichols and Mary Huttner from our congregation and also several “community moms” who have become like family over the past several months as they have supported ALL of our summer programs with not only their own children attending but helping to shepherd many others between bags of snacks and gallons of juice!  This past week “Creation Keepers 2010 Camp” brought 57 children and 18 leaders together for a wonderful week where we lived out our motto day by day.  We worshipped daily, took a bus took 82 people to FMSC for a packing adventure.  We learned about planet friendly gardening at Bachman’s, did a family dinner and worship for about 100 people, filled a grocery cart FULL of food for VEAP and held worship under the cottonwoods at the  Woodlake Nature Center.  I hope you will enjoy these glimpses of what was happening at RELC this past week -  between the Sundays.
